The future always brings change. Our actions today influence those changes. What will Annapolis become in 50 or 100 years? How will Annapolis adapt to the many pressures it is facing already - population growth, changing ecology, and ever increasing land pressures?

This fall through next spring, several world renowned urban designers, experts, and educators will converge on the city to envision and explore its many possible futures. We will identify and discuss the unique long-term challenges and opportunities that the city holds through a series of workshops and public presentations. We will:

        Share relevant examples from around the world
        Explore alternative conceptual futures for the City, and
        Identify some of the factors we think deserve further careful study.

Seeing and responding to various imaginable alternatives – obvious or creative – can help Annapolitans set the stage for a brighter, clearer future.

Annapolis will be the product of what we think, make, and do today – intentional or unintentional. Envisioning Annapolis will be a catalyst for the ‘bigger picture’ conversation that can generate great ideas. Please stay posted, as we begin this exciting process of exploring the future!
